Ambassadors from two NDSU colleges raised a record amount for a local high school student recovering from a severe brain injury.
Representatives from the College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Sciences and the College of Engineering collected $4,444.36 for Fargo Davies senior Lexi Bolstad during the Fourth Annual Battle of the Cents-es fundraising event.
Bolstad was injured last August in an accident involving an electric vehicle.
The College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Sciences collected $2,411.87 to win the annual competition fundraiser. The College of Engineering brought in $2,032.46.
Coins collected counted as positive and paper money was deducted from the total of each team during the competition.
Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Sciences won the competition with a total of $607.87 to the Engineering’s $220.49. All of the money collected was donated to the Bolstad family.
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation’s top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
