The Office of the NDSU Ombudsperson opened in June. Its services are available to faculty and other persons working in academic affairs.
Kristine Paranica, NDSU ombudsperson, has launched a website about the office and its services at www.ndsu.edu/ombud. She can be contacted at 701-231-5114, or kristine.paranica@ndsu.edu.
The ombudsperson’s office provides consultation for faculty who find themselves in challenging situations that may include interpersonal conflict, concerns about supervision or evaluation, harassment, unfair treatment or unfair application of policies or procedures, and other matters. The services include advisement, coaching, mediation, conflict resolution, as well as training, education and group facilitation.
The office is temporarily located on second floor in Old Main, with a permanent office under construction in the Main Library. Meetings are typically held in the NDSU Library, Memorial Union or a location of the visitor's preference. Call or email to set up a meeting that is convenient and private.
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
