New Grout Materials For Dowel Bar Retrofit in Existing Concrete Pavements

 

 

Applications of this research effort:

 

Retrofit of existing concrete pavements to increase pavement life and improve ride on the pavement. The dowel bars are used as load transfer elements between existing concrete pavement slabs.

 

 Research Objective:

To develop new economical grout materials for use in dowel bar retrofit of pavements with better performance characteristics in terms of durability, strength gain, low shrinkage etc. compared to existing materials.
