Email: tahni.parisien@ndsu.edu
Tahni Parisien is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. She will graduate this May with her Master of Public Health Program in Community Health Science with a Maternal and Child Health subplan. For her practicum class requirement, Tahni is working with the AIPHRC to assist with the communication and recruitment of the USDA IIFSPH summer program.
Studying public health has allowed Tahni to find her passion in working with Indigenous communities to address health disparities, social justice, and social determinants of health issues. Tahni’s work focuses on incorporating public health and traditional teachings and knowledge for grounds of intergenerational healing.
When Tahni is not working, she can be found cuddling her cat, Minerva, having belly laughs with family and friends, reading her Kindle, or creating ribbon skirts.
