Training
These are required training modules for all pilot sites to complete as a part of the PSEP project research study. The following trainings are required. Please email a copy of your completion certificate for each module to Dr. Brody Maack.
- Step 1: Create a free account at the Quitlogix (NDQuits Training) website at: https://quitlogixeducation.org/northdakota/
Step 2: Once you are logged in, complete the following 6 modules (5 modules for technicians), which will provide you with free CE
- North Dakota Cessation Programs 101 (~15 minutes)
- Best Practices for Tobacco Cessation Using Medication and Behavioral Support (~30 minutes)
- Connecting the Harms of Tobacco Use to Chronic Health Conditions (15 minutes)
- Vaping and E-Cigarette Devices: What are they and how do they harm? (15 minutes)
- Conversations for Screening, Responding, and Preventing Vaping (15 minutes)
- [Pharmacists Only] If you have not yet completed your tobacco cessation prescribing training per the ND Board of Pharmacy requirements (https://www.nodakpharmacy.com/authority.asp), then you can complete the following module which will satisfy that training:
- Implementing Pharmacist Prescriptive Authority For Nicotine Replacement Medications (1 hour)
- If you have completed one of the other Board-approved trainings for prescribing, or you have completed Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) training, then just forward your completion certificate! - Implementing Pharmacist Prescriptive Authority For Nicotine Replacement Medications (1 hour)
- Optional: Special Quitline Programs For Tobacco Cessation (15 minutes)
Step 3: Complete the following online training modules
- Billing 101 Module
- Marketing Module
- Tobacco Industry, Principles of Addiction and Drug-Tobacco Interactions (Coming Soon)
Once you have completed these additional training modules, please email Dr. Brody Maack and you will be sent quick survey indicating that you completed the final 3 modules.
