RSV Across the Ages: Immunizations to Protect Older Adults, Infants, and Young Children

EVENT DESCRIPTION

In this presentation, Dr. Tracie Newman and Dr. Elizabeth Skoy reviewed respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) immunization products, which populations they are recommended for, and their real-world effectiveness data.

Dr. Tracie Newman is a board-certified pediatrician and the Health Officer at Fargo Cass Public Health. At North Dakota State University (NDSU), she is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Public Health and Medical Director of the Center for Immunization Research and Education (CIRE). She is also an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. Dr. Newman holds many board positions, including Policy Chair for the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Council on School Health.

Elizabeth Skoy, PharmD, RPhA, FAPhA, is a Professor at NDSU and the Director of the Center for Collaboration and Advancement in Pharmacy (CAP Center). As part of her faculty position, she has a community pharmacy practice site where she continues to engage in routine pharmacy patient care. Dr. Skoy has represented the pharmacy profession through various agencies including the FDA, CDC, and the American Pharmacist Association. Most recently, Dr. Skoy was named to serve on the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) Workgroup for adult RSV vaccines.
