owned Newman Signs, a company best known for billboards, but also distributes traffic signs, offers large format printing and has urban construction and fencing divisions. He was a member of the Jamestown, N.D., industrial development board, president of the Jamestown City Council, director of Northwest Bank, AGRI-Bank board member, chair of the Judicial nominating committee of North Dakota, president of the N.D. Travel Association and served on many statewide boards. His numerous honors included N.D. Small Businessman of the Year, Greater North Dakota Award, LB Hartz Professional Achievement Award and the 2007 Pioneer Award from the Ethanol Producers Association. He lived in Jamestown.
