electrical and electronic engineering, worked for Minnkota Power Cooperative in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where he rose to the position of chief engineer in 1961 and intersystems relations coordinator in 1983. Five years after his 1988 retirement, the Siemens Westinghouse Corp presented him with the Nikola Tesla Award for his contributions to the electrification of rural North Dakota and Minnesota. He lived in Jamestown, North Dakota.
