social science, was recognized for outstanding service to the Rural Sociological Society at the organization’s awards banquet in New Orleans. He was secretary of the society from 2010-13. Previously, he was an elected council member, chair of the Professional Communications Committee and co-chair of the 75th Anniversary Committee. He is a professor and department chair of sociology at the University of North Dakota.
