A civic leader in the Minot community, he was active in Rotary International and a member of the board of directors of the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Merchants and Professional Association, Salvation Army and American Red Cross. He also was active in the Minot State University Foundation United Way, Park and Shop Committee, Minot Parking Authority, YMCA and N.D. Human Services Advisory Committee. He was a member of the N.D. Pharmaceutical Association and the N.D. Retail Association. He lived in Minot.
