He served on the North Dakota State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, was on the Water Pollution Confederation where he received the Arthur Sidney Bell Award, and was elected to the North Dakota Garrison Conservancy board. He lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
