MS ’57, electrical and electronic engineering, taught at NDSU from 1956 through 1968. He then joined American Electric Power in New York City, where he worked with other engineers to develop the world's first “state estimator” to be implemented on a major transmission system. In 1972, he transferred to AEP System Power Production Control Center in Canton, Ohio, where he was responsible for all computer applications related to system operation. He lthen transferred to the company’s Columbus, Ohio, headquarters, where he led research and development projects. He later co-founded Priority-based Control Engineering to develop computer methodologies for power generation control. He was a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He lived in Columbus, Ohio.
