She then worked for Bullock's Department Stores in Los Angeles, where she was the first woman to manage a Bullock's store and later became the first woman vice president at Bullock's. She was named president of Harzfeld's, a retailer based in Kansas City, Missouri, before joining Dayton-Hudson Co. in Minneapolis as senior vice president. She was a life trustee of NDSU Development Foundation. She lived in Clarkston, Washington.
