English, worked at A. Leslie Law in Forman, North Dakota, after graduation. She and her husband then operated a farm on the Sargent-Ransom county line in North Dakota. She also worked for the Melroe Co., J & M Printing, the Teller and the Gazette. In 1995, she was Sargent County's first elected female county commissioner. She lived in Moorhead.
