botany, MS '49, plant pathology, was a scientist and administrator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He served at several locations across the country, including being responsible for the construction and initial staffing of the USDA Plant Research Laboratory on the NDSU campus. He lived in Moorhead, Minnesota.
