zoology, MS ’77, environmental engineering, was named state engineer by North Dakota’s State Water Commission. He is responsible for regulating allocation of the state’s waters, dam safety, sovereign land management and drainage. He previously worked 35 years for the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and later was a senior water resources engineer for Wenck Associates Inc.
