mechanical engineering, was an aerospace engineer, working on the Titan missile program at Martin-Marietta before joining the the surgical laboratory at Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine to develop electronic monitoring equipment for animals. He later owned the Coast-to-Coast hardware store in Dickinson, North Dakota, and worked as a gunsmith. He lived in Dickinson.
