secondary education, had a teaching career that included positions in Ellendale, Wahpeton and Wyndmere, North Dakota, and the North Dakota State College of Sciende. Kay was awarded the North Dakota Educator of the Year and served on the State Board of Higher Education. She retired in 2003. She lived in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
