English, home economics, was the first licensed woman contractor in Virginia, serving as designer, general contractor and realtor for more than 100 residences in the Washington, D.C., area. She also worked for Sen. Milton Young of North Dakota in his Washington office. She was an NDSU Foundation life trustee. She lived in Geneseo, New York.
