He was active in community organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, United Fund, Public Library Board, Burleigh County Board of Housing, the church foundation, Junior Achievement program and he taught business/financial classes at Bismarck State College. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He lived in Bismarck, North Dakota.
