English, was president of Sterling Management LLC, who graduated from The Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands, served as judicial clerk to Chief Justice Edward D. Robertson of the Missouri Supreme Court, was appointed assistant special council for the Waco investigation in St. Louis, in 1999, and campaigned for mayor of Fargo in 2005. He was an NDSU Alumni Board member emeritus. He lived in Fargo.
