educational administration, taught social studies at Holmes Jr. High School, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and was also the varsity hockey coach. He later became the guidance counselor at the junior high school, and also acted as the assistant principal before retiring in 1985 after 31 years with the district. He served in the South Pacific as a radio operator during WW II. He lived in Detroit Lakes.
