zoology, was an educator at DeQuincy High School and McNeese State University in Louisiana. He was an Army veteran, who served in Korea and Vietnam and rose to the rank of major. His military honors included the Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with Cross of Gallantry, National Service Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and the Air Medal, among others. He lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
