was a businessman who guided the growth of the North Dakota-based Melroe Company – now known as Doosan Bobcat. He helped establish the company’s Bobcat loader in the European market, and served as company president for 25 years. He was a director of the National Association of Manufacturers and chaired the Association of Equipment Manufacturers in 1988. He also was a director with the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, Fargo-Cass County Industrial Development Association, First Bank of Fargo, Pioneer Mutual Life Insurance Co., Ottertail Power, U.S. West (N.D.) Advisory Board and NDSU President’s Advisory Board. He lived in Fargo.
