animal health technology, taught at Fort Hays State University from 1976-1980. He then began a 15-year career at South Dakota State University in the animal science department as a beef and horse Extension specialist. He later bought a ranch near Creighton, South Dakota. He was named South Dakota Horseperson of the Year in 2012. He lived in Creighton.
