animal science, worked the family farm in Adams County in North Dakota. He served in the North Dakota National Guard for six years, and was named the 1970 North Dakota Outstanding Guardsman. He and his wife, Gail, received the Honorary State FFA Degree from the South Dakota FFA Association in 1989 and were the Adams County Harvest Bowl honorees in 2017. He lived in Lemmon, South Dakota.
