electrical and electronic engineering, had a 22-year military career and served in Vietnam. He then was a test pilot for the Federal Aeronautics Administration based in Chicago and was the first pilot to fly the Goodyear blimp Columbia II. He later evaluated flight simulators and was a consultant for the U.S. Air Force. He lived in Minot, North Dakota.
