His military awards included the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Joins Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster and a Silver de Fleury Medal. He lived in Bismarck, North Dakota.
