agricultural economics, was a professor at NDSU for 33 years, retiring in 2004 with emeritus status. He taught such topics such as environmental economics, farm finance, cooperatives and agriculture policy. He held several positions at NDSU, including director of the Center for Cooperatives, director of international research and development, director of the Institute of Natural Resources and Economic Development and Faculty Senate chair. He was an active member of the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion held annually in Rollag, Minnesota. He lived in Ames, Iowa.
