In 1984, he and other members of the senior management team purchased Gambles. He sold Gambles stores in 1986 to Our Own Hardware and worked with the combined companies until 1989 when he became president of AMDURA Corp. in Denver. He was an Air Force veteran who lived in Waconia, Minnesota.
