She later worked as an employment specialist for the state of Nebraska until she retired in 2014. She was active in Red Hat Society, Elks, YMCA, Kiwanis, Nebraska Governor’s Committee and the local Chamber of Commerce. She lived in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
