agricultural economics, was a farmer near Langdon, North Dakota. In 2007, he and his wife, Sharon, were awarded the Outstanding Agriculturist Award for Cavalier County. They retired in 2014 after 40 years of farming. For many years, he was treasurer of Redeemer Lutheran Church and a Waterloo Township officer. He was an Army veteran who lived in Langdon.
