agricultural economics, joined the Army in 1956. After the Army, he moved back to the family farm in Kief to join his father and brother in raising cattle and wheat farming. Spichke also was a deacon, groundskeeper and teacher at his local church. He and his wife, Dee, stayed on their farm during most of their retirement until their move to Minneapolis in 2016. He lived in Minneapolis.
