agricultural economics, worked for 25 years at the University of Missouri-Columbia as an Extension economist in farm management, pioneering support and promotion of computers in agriculture and the family farm. From 1994-1999, he was an associate dean in the institution’s College of Agriculture. He was an Army veteran who lived on a farm near Eitzen, Minnesota.
