had a successful career as a teacher and football coach for Fenger High School and Thornton Township High School in the Chicago area. Nicknamed “Fiery Frank” during his collegiate days, he was an all-conference football player for NDSU, playing quarterback and defensive back. He was inducted into the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame in 1973. He was an Army veteran who lived in Plainfield, Illinois.
