He later was a branch manager for Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association, Ripon, Wisconsin; and manager at St. Joseph Stockyards, St. Joseph, Missouri. He then worked as a livestock and grain market reporter for the USDA in Amarillo, Texas, until he retired. He lived in Amarillo.
