mechanical engineering, was a mechanic, pilot, commander and chief of staff for the North Dakota Air National Guard, retiring after a 42-year military career as a brigadier general. He was on the NDSU faculty, as assistant to the president and chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management. He lived in Fargo.
