She was Wilkin County Extension home economist, receiving an academic promotion to assistant professor through the University of Minnesota. She also was Wilkin County coordinator on aging, t receiving the Minnesota Outstanding Coordinator of the Year award in 1995. She lived in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
