Roles & Responsibilities

Using available university Web templates, site members can devote time to creating and maintaining quality site content. The value of a site depends on the information presented, and accurate, up-to-date content reflects positively on the site's department and on NDSU.

Each site carries the responsibility to achieve this high level of quality.

Brief summary of each role

Workspace manager(s) grant and revoke permissions within the workspace and are contact points for changes to the workspace, such as email notification preferences and installation of modules. One of the managers, if there is more than one, is denoted as the primary manager to reflect her primary accountability within the workspace,
publishers may publish content so that it will be available for page visitors to see, and
authors may compose content.

Workspace primary manager

In order for a NDSU site “shell” to be created using any of the available NDSU-provided Web technologies, the site must select one primary manager who will be accountable for assigned Web duties.

A primary manager may delegate responsibility for a page content redesign and/or maintenance of the page content to other staff in her department, but she remains accountable for the content of the pages.
