For sites that use the news application, the Web address to view an individual news article has changed.

As a result of several sites experiencing difficulties, URL aliasing for news articles has been disabled and the Web address to view news articles will use the article ID instead of the article title to identify the article.

News article authors will no longer need to clear branch cache and view articles immediately after publish.

As a consequence of the change, any links you may have inserted directly to news articles may no longer work. The only fix in this case is to update the link. In the event your site was missed during the transition, you may need to clear branch cache in order to correct links in any automatically-generated news lists.
