Building Our Future
It's been an exciting month for the College of Engineering. Governor Doug Burgum signed HB 1003, the North Dakota University System budget bill, approving $59M in state funding for the Center for Engineering and Computational Sciences at NDSU!
This investment in a new state-of-the-art building will modernize the educational experience for our students and enhance our ability to provide a collaborative, interdisciplinary, hands-on education that prepares our graduates to solve the problems of today and tomorrow.
This day would not have happened without the amazing support of President Cook, alumni and members of the college advisory and advancement board who took time to write letters and make phone calls to lawmakers, and the hard work put in by staff and faculty at the college, university, and NDSU Foundation.
While we will certainly take a moment to celebrate, we know there is still a lot of work to do and $25M to raise in private support. Over the coming weeks and months, I'll be providing routine updates on the project and its progress. We'll also be launching a dedicated website where you can get the latest information.
The next 18 months will take all of us working together to turn this dream into reality. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, ideas, or comments you might have.
Thank you for all you do to support the NDSU College of Engineering!
