Sales Engineer/Area Distrubution Manager - Flowserve
What are your primary job responsibilities?
Manage and oversee Direct and Distribution sales across 5 state midwest territory for pumps and mechanical seals.
Describe what your day-to-day work life looks like.
In my current role I get to travel to many different customers sites and participate in everything from root cause analysis to sales presentations on new industry trends and equipment. I interact with many people on a daily basis, both in my international company, my local distributor and the end user. I have to understand the basics of the equipment and problem but be able to relate it to all involved at the site. We use a variety of technology and equipment to support the customers and I both directly and indirectly oversee multiple teams of support personnel from customer service reps to solutions engineers.
What is most rewarding about your job?
Getting to the bottom of a customer's issue that might be affecting their production, reliability and or safety. Successfully explaining and implementing a complex solution with a large number of players involved.
What is most challenging about your job?
Keeping things on track and progressing when both customers and suppliers are short on people and yet more parties are involved with each decision.
