Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry
Mass spectrometry and Omics are rapidly advancing fields at the crossroads of diverse scientific disciplines. The aim of the Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry service is to accelerate research and discovery by providing NDSU investigators as well as biomedical and translational researchers across the country access to cutting edge technologies and resources in mass spectrometry.
We are equipped with the latest Waters Synapt G2-Si HDMS with tissue imaging capability. Through collaboration we provide appropriate services through a micro-LC-MS, 2D-LC-MS and Waters Xevo-TQ-S. We are also equipped with hydrogen-deuterium exchange setup enabled through an immobilized enzyme column to study protein conformation and dynamics. Our NMR services serve complimentary to such research endeavors.
We ensure the availability of such state-of-the-art instrumentation to all researchers on campus and maintain user-friendly atmosphere. Our facility aims in educating students on mass spectrometers by supporting them to develop new applications to meet the rapidly evolving needs of researchers working at the interface of chemistry and biology. We do offer a BSL-2 lab facility for sample preparation through our Core Biology Facility.
