Whether you are an incoming freshman, a transfer student, or a current student in the program, we encourage you to explore the merit-based scholarship opportunities available to you. Apply through NDSU’s scholarship portal and search for specific scholarship opportunities.
Scholarships available through the Department of Criminal Justice
Carroll Family Scholarship
The Carroll Family Scholarship is available to incoming freshmen who are pursuing a major in criminal justice. Students must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Preference will be given to a student who graduated from a high school outside of the state of North Dakota, a student looking to pursue a career in law enforcement or a student from an underrepresented group as defined by the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis.
Criminal Justice Departmental Scholarship
The Criminal Justice Scholarship is available to all students majoring in the Department of Criminal Justice.
Eddie Carroll Scholarship Endowment
Students must be enrolled as a full-time freshmen at NDSU at the time of disbursement and be pursuing a major in Criminal Justice. Students must demonstrate financial needs as established by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Preference will be given to a student who graduated from a high school outside of North Dakota. Preference will also be given to a student looking to pursue a career in criminal justice. Preference will be given to a student from an underrepresented group as defined by the University.
Trinka & Duane Rogne Family Scholarship
Students must be majoring in Criminal Justice or Political Science within the College of Arts and Sciences who has a 3.0 GPA or higher and have achieved a junior or senior status.
Scholarship Applications Schedule
- Incoming Freshman application opens: October 1
- Incoming Freshman application closes: March 1
- Current student general application opens: October 1
- Current student general application closes: March 1

REMEMBER: Be sure to observe the criteria and deadline for each scholarship. It is the student's responsibility to submit the scholarship application and respond to all additional questions posed.
