Dolichoplatus Gross, 1970 (still a valid subgenus).

Melanoplatus Gross, 1970 (still a valid subgenus).

Type Species: Dryptocephalus (Cephaloplatus) pertyi White, 1842, by monotypy.

Tribal Placement: Tribal placement is currently somewhat questionable.  Gross (1976) placed this genus in its own generic group, the Cephaloplatus group, but he commented that the Cephaloplatus group “may also include the genus Caystrus Stål ... and an undescribed genus from northern Australia with a single undescribed species.” Also, Kirkaldy (1909) catalogued Cephaloplatus right after Hippotiscus.
