Opportunities for Current NDSU Students
The Department of Mathematics has several scholarships and awards for outstanding undergraduates. NDSU offers merit-based and need-based scholarships for current students. Apply through NDSU’s scholarship portal and search for specific scholarship opportunities.
Phyllis and Robert Anderson Scholarship in memory of A. Glenn Hill
This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior student erolled at NDSU during the time of actual disbursement of award. It is required that the student is enrolled in the Mathematics program within the College of Science and Mathematics and has a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
Davis Cope Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled at NDSU at the time of disbursement, identified as a full-time student pursuing studies in mathematics, be a student with proven scholarship ability and leadership, and who displays the potential to make a special contribution in the field of mathematics.
David Ferguson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students that are enrolled at NDSU during time of actual disbursement; enrolled in the Mathematics program; enrolled in ROTC or a returning military student.
Fred Haring Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement. The student is identified as a full-time student pursuing studies in Mathematics at NDSU, proven scholarship ability and leadership, and displays the potential to make a special contribution in the field of Mathematics.
Gil Nelson Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students properly enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement who is identified as a full-time student pursuing studies in mathematics. Student has proven scholarship ability, leadership, and displays the potential to make a special contribution in the field of Mathematics.
Hawthorn Mathematics Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement and is a “non-traditional” student majoring in Mathematics or Mathematics Education. Student demonstrates financial need.
Hill-Tidd Scholar's Award
This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement. Students are identified as a full-time student pursuing a major in Mathematics or Mathematics Education, has proven scholarship ability and leadership (i.e. involvement in department and student activities), and display the potential to make a special contribution in the filed of Mathematics. Students must submit a letter of recommendation from a department faculty member.
James H. Olsen Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement and is identified as a full-time student pursuing a major or double major in Mathematics. The student is ready for 400 level mathematics courses and displays the potential to make a special contribution in the field of Mathematics.
Lloyd Olson Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement and is identified as a full-time student pursuing studies in Mathematics at NDSU. Student proves scholarship ability and leadership, displaying the potential to make a special contribution in the field of Mathematics.
Lonnie D. Hass Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement; identified as a full-time student pursuing studies in Mathematics at NDSU. Students must prove scholarship ability and leadership and displays the potential to make a special contribution in the field of Mathematics
Mathematics Department Scholarship
The Mathematics Scholarship is available to students who are pursuing a major within the Department of Mathematics.
Mathilda Thompson Mathematics Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at NDSU during the time of application and disbursement and is identified as a full-time student pursuing a major in Mathematics or Mathematics Education. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, displays the potential to make a special contribution in the field of Mathematics, demonstrates leadership, and have participated in Department and University activities
Ronald M. Mathsen Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement and is identified as a full-time student pursuing studies in Mathematics at NDSU. The recipient is a student with proven scholarship ability and leadership and displays the potential to make a special contribution in the field of Mathematics.
Warren E. Shreve Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled at NDSU at the time of application and disbursement and is identified as a full-time student pursuing studies in Mathematics at NDSU. Recipient is a student with proven scholarship ability and leadership and displays the potential to make a special contribution in the field of mathematics.
