Striped grasshopper
Adults
- Head with a median carina on fastigum.
- Lateral foveola not visible from
above.
- Stripes on head run oblique to sutures.
- Lateral carinae nearly striaght.
- Subdorsal carnula on either side of
median carina.
- Tegmen with a white basal streak.
- Outer face of hind femur brown on
upper half, horn yellow on lower half.
- With black bands on upper
half.
- Hind tibia blue.
Nymphs
- Lateral carinae nearly straight
- Head with a median carina on fastigum.
- Stripes run oblique to sutures on head.
- Nymphs occur in late Spring and early
Summer.
- Only similar nymph, E. simplex,
occurs from late Summer to early
Spring.
