- Usually brachypterous (short-winged)
- Ventral surface bright yellow, abdominal tergites banded with black and green.
- Hind femur banded, hind tibiae red.
- Male cercus 'boot' shaped.
- Furculae about 1/4 as long as supra-anal plate.
- Black coloration glossy.
- Lateral white crescent extends from mouthparts to end of metazona.
- Hind femur with black band notched on upper half.
