- Pronotum shaped as in M. sanguinipes.
- Mesosternum with a median hump.
- Wings extend beyond abdomen for more than length of pronotum.
- Supra-anal plate trilobate.
- Coloration of M. sanguinipes
- Size of M. packardii.
- Extinct- fragmentary specimens from grasshopper glacier in Montana.
