Molly McKinnon was recently named director of the NDSU Center for Accessibility and Disability Services. She will begin her new role on June 3.
McKinnon is the coordinator for NDSU’s Transition and Access program and will transition into the director role following current director Mark Coppin’s retirement in May.
“Dr. McKinnon’s comprehensive experience in working with people with disabilities from birth through adulthood makes her uniquely suited for this role. She is a well-respected educator with the drive to increase access for students with disabilities,” said Laura Oster-Aaland, NDSU Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Institutional Equity. “Dr. McKinnon brought creativity and a propensity for collaboration to the creation of the Transition and Access program. These skills will serve her well as director of the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources. I’m excited to welcome her into this new role.”
In addition to her role at NDSU, McKinnon is a due process facilitator with INDIGO, a university student teacher supervisor at Bethel University/Minot State University and a deaf and hard of hearing teacher at Moorhead Public Schools.
McKinnon earned her bachelor’s degree in deaf and hard of hearing education and elementary education from Minot State University, and her master’s degree in special education and doctoral degree in leadership in higher education from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
